About Iona Fortune
Iona Fortune is a burlesque dancer and art historian. She has been performing as Iona around the country for the last 7 years. She is interested in the intersection between burlesque, costuming, culture and history.
Fortune is originally from Nebraska and graduated from Iowa State University in 2018. She holds a BA in Art History and a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Classical Studies.
Since 2023, she’s been researching and writing about the history of burlesque in Nebraska, shedding light on Nebraska burlesque history by publishing articles on her website, producing burlesque shows, and creating “zines.”
